WWS
Walk with a Scholar (WWS) is a dream project of Government of Kerala to excel meritorious students, in learning through specialized mentoring programmes, of the Undergraduate Programmes in Arts, Science and Commerce and to provide guidance to frame their future. The scheme introduces the idea of mentoring and build capacities on the concept, mentor as a ‘Guide’ and ‘Friend’.
Induction Programme: One day training programme for WWS Internal mentors of the College to guide them and prepare them for the mentoring programmes of the respective academic year.
Mentoring: For the purpose of mentoring two categories of mentors are identified- Internal Mentor and External Mentor. The internal mentor is a teacher from the college and department in which the student is studying. Each internal mentor shall be in charge of six students. External mentors could be identified based on the area to be covered including Academic Excellence, Personal Growth, and Social Orientation. They are individuals who are academicians, professionals, intellectuals and activists in the public sphere who are also experts in their respective fields. External mentoring sessions of the three batches are to be conducted separately.
State Level Motivational Camp: It aims to build greater communication skills and self-esteem amongst scholars. This ensures the scholars focused on the development of skills, knowledge, and understanding.
District Level Camp for the Scholars: Scholars from the district will be clustered and given a one day exposure. The programme will be lead by the concerned District co-ordinator.
WWS Motivational Visit: The visit should be devoted for visiting Academic Institutions of Higher Learning and Research at the National/State level.
Mock Interview: It is for final year students to prepare them to attend interviews for job purposes. It will reduce interview anxiety and boost confidence
Mock Test: It aims to prepare the second and final year students for entrance exams like JAM, IELTS, TOEFL, MAT, CAT ect.
Stationery Kit Distribution: A stationary kit consists of pen, pencil, file and note book will be given to each student enrolled in the programme.
Study Materials Distribution: Each student will get a motivational book of his/her area of interest which will guide them to future career.

MOCK EXAMINATION
21/11/2019
Mock JAM exams for Physics, Chemistry, Zoology were conducted. Question papers were prepared by the experts and answer sheets were evaluated and the answers were discussed with the students. Chemistry JAM exam was conducted by Dr. Rajesh; Zoology by Jisha Krishnan and Physics by Dr. Nabeel Rashin. Mock CAT exam was conducted by Prof. Sini, department of Commerce and Mock TOEFEL exam was conducted by Prof. Najila T Y( HOD, department of English) on the same day.
MOCK INTERVIEW
20/11/2019
A Mock Interview was conducted for all WWS second year students. After collecting bio-data from students, a real interview situation was created by the experts.
Prof Santhakumari P. was the external expert in the panel. The other members were Dr. C. Rajesh, IQAC Coordinator and Najila T Y, HOD department of English. After the interview, a feedback session was arranged by the panel members with the students.
DISTRIBUTION OF STUDY MATERIALS

The photocopies of study materials were distributed by the Principal among the students as per the need of the different external mentoring sessions.It included books for competitive exams like JAM, CAT, TOEFEL, IAS, and PSC and Bank coaching.

INDUCTION PROGRAMME FOR INTERNAL MENTORS

An induction programme for internal mentors was conducted in the Research block. Dr. C Rajesh, IQAC Coordinator engaged a session on Mentoring: Fostering Transformation in Students. The function was inaugurated by the Principal, Capt. Dr. Abdul Hameed C. After the session, certificates and print outs were distributed among the mentors.

All the Internal mentors very actively & sincerely engaged the Mentees in various activity oriented sessions. Professor Najila T Y engaged the mentoring sessions for the First year BA Functional English students. The second year students of English were engaged by Prof. Sivya Vasudevan K. K. The first year BCom students were mentored by Prof. Febina K. and the second year BCom by Prof. Sini V. T. The first Polymer Chemistry mentees were guided by Dr. C. Rajesh and the second year by Prof. Rukkiya K. M. Prof. Krishnaprabha engaged the sessions for the First year Zoology and Prof. Jisha Krishnan mentored the second year Zoology students. Dr. Sailaja U. planned and trained students of the first year Physics and Prof. Sreeja Lakshmi S. engaged the second year students of the same department
